Last Updated: October 2025
At NeuroMirror, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how information is collected, used, and safeguarded across all parts of our platform.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we process, why we process it, and how we keep it secure. Our goal is to deliver safe, ethical, and effective AI-assisted therapy support for children while maintaining the highest standards of data protection.
1. Overview
NeuroMirror is an AI-powered therapeutic system designed to support children with autism through interactive, real-time emotional feedback.
The system analyzes live behavioral signals (such as facial expressions and voice tone) through the camera and microphone of a tablet or computer.
Importantly, no video, audio, or biometric data is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted outside the device.
All processing happens in real time to generate adaptive therapeutic feedback within the session.
2. Information We Collect
We collect and process only the minimal data necessary to deliver personalized therapy and maintain user accounts.
a. Information You Provide
Parent or guardian name and contact information (e.g., email, account credentials).
Child’s first name, age range, and therapy plan details (entered voluntarily by parents or therapists).
Therapist or clinician profile information (for professional access and reporting).
b. Automatically Processed (Non-Recorded) Data
Real-time behavioral signals: facial expression cues, gaze direction, gesture patterns, and vocal tone, captured live through the device’s sensors. These are analyzed instantly and not saved.
System analytics: anonymized usage metrics such as session duration, engagement levels, and feature utilization to improve the platform’s performance.
c. Optional Inputs
Progress notes or observational comments entered by therapists or parents.
Optional survey responses related to usability and user experience.
3. How We Use Information
NeuroMirror uses limited, de-identified data solely for the following purposes:
To provide real-time adaptive feedback during therapy sessions.
To personalize each child’s progress path using AI-driven learning algorithms.
To display progress reports and trends in the Parent and Therapist Portals.
To monitor system performance and enhance safety and user experience.
To conduct research analyses only under IRB-approved protocols, ensuring no personally identifiable information is used.
4. Data Storage and Security
No video, image, or audio recordings are ever stored or transmitted.
Only minimal session metadata (e.g., timestamps, engagement scores) may be stored securely on encrypted servers located in the United States.
All stored data are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest (AES-256).
Access is strictly limited to authorized study or platform personnel who are trained in HIPAA and research confidentiality standards.
5. Research and Regulatory Compliance
NeuroMirror operates under institutional oversight and complies with:
HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) for health information protection;

7. Data Retention
Only essential session metadata and progress analytics are retained.
Personal profile data (child name, parent email) are retained while the account remains active.
Research data are de-identified and stored only as required by the approved study protocol.
All data are deleted or anonymized upon account closure or study completion.
8. AI Transparency and Ethics
